What can it do?

This application does not use full color and has no layers.

However

There is a super high resolution to reproduce realistic pencil, a tres box function to display preliminary sketches, and a browser to manage files.

Draw a rough sketch Clinch up a line drawing Put together an idea... Take notes, we aim to help you take the first steps when you are expressing something.

Pencil

Mankind was fortunate enough to discover graphite and created the pencil, a pencil that can draw as far as 40 kilometers with one stick. It is an amazing writing instrument that has helped to turn every human idea into reality through the combination of paper and eraser.

We have attempted to recreate this king of writing instruments with a different approach to its previous applications.

And, fascinated by the pencil, we are still trying to recreate it on the iPad, devising every parameter to push the limits of the hardware.

Ultra-high resolution

The 1Bit format concept preceded the approach to pencil. The idea was that by giving up the freedom of color, there would be expression to be obtained. As a result of giving up color, we got a huge canvas with a maximum A3 size of 2400 DPI. But to tell the truth, even at 2400 DPI, the resolution of a real pencil is still not as high as that of a real pencil. Nevertheless, high resolution is an important factor in reproducing a more detailed analog feel, such as the expression of density through density changes, which was not possible with other approaches.

The resolution of lines drawn with 1BitPencil is high enough to be used in other graphics software.

Simple UI

It is easy to understand and use for many people, uses as little cognitive resources as possible, increases control through familiarity, is unobtrusive, and has a shallow hierarchy,

We have made various elements simple. As a result, the UI can be used with little sense of discomfort even in split view. The icons are somewhat old-school, but the functions have been carefully selected. We will continue to express functionality that responds to ingenuity in a simple UI, such as the tres box function installed in place of the layer function and the lasso painting function with a touch similar to that of a pencil.

Ideas Forever.

1BitPencil does not have a unique file format. It uses the common 1-bit PNG format. We emphasize the benefits this provides to the user. Files can be easily viewed and reused from any environment, and can be opened in a variety of applications. We will not adopt a proprietary format so that users will be able to open the data after the application has been used, even after our development team has disappeared. The development team will continue to study digital paper.

Easy to view files

A gallery function is provided that runs at high speed and is suitable for handling high resolutions of 600 dpi and above. It includes functions for viewing, renaming, and deleting files, and can be used in conjunction with the standard iPad file app.

Handwrite your notes.

The evolution of hardware is reinstating handwriting expression digitally: the accuracy of the ApplePencil is excellent, and the iPadOS standard screenshot feature includes OCR. 1BitPencil is an app like a large notepad. Concentrate on writing out lots of notes. Although the number of available colors is small, the ability to jot down many characters and the excellent selection feature can be used to edit documents. Some of the default templates are suitable for handwritten notes, such as notebooks or graph paper.

The saved data is in PNG format and will be stored in iCloud. It can be viewed directly from many environments.

This application requires the ApplePencil.
